Life…over tea

Sometimes you tackle the hard tasks, sometimes they tackle you. Both times have a cup of tea.
Everything is a rush. That is a scam. There is no rush. 21 years ago when I worked in an emergency room, a 44 year old man came in with a brain bleed and had to have his head cracked open to drain it. As a 23 year old assistant, I stood at the head of the trauma table handing utensils to the surgeon who was essentially opening this man’s head with a corkscrew. My perspective on life changed. There is no emergency like a real emergency. Moving forward in life some would call me lackadaisical, aloof, unconcerned, and the list goes on. The truth is, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. I think life and time are a gift, and I don’t intend to waste them rushing for anyone.
